14CarbonBlaze activity tools

Estimate selected activity context.

Use a few activity values to see a transparent, local-only estimate for electricity and fuel use. Treat it as a starting point for learning and reduction—not as a complete footprint, offset quota, climate claim, or purchasing instruction.

Your inputs stay in this browser.

CarbonBlaze does not collect, store, submit, or profile calculator entries. Clear the page or reset the form to remove local state.

01Choose a context

Start with the activity data you have.

Choose the path that matches your context. Both paths use the same transparent, editable set of selected activity inputs. Organization results are introductory and are not a GHG Protocol inventory or reporting output.

02Enter annual activity

Selected inputs only.

All fields are optional. Values are processed only in the current browser session. Entering both vehicle fuel and miles can double-count the same activity.

03Selected activity estimate

0.00t CO₂

0 kg CO₂ from your selected inputs. The total is not an amount to offset and does not create or validate a climate claim.

Use the estimate carefully

Keep reduction work visible before any credit question.

Use the activity breakdown to identify which data could be improved and where direct reduction questions may be most useful. A separate carbon-credit pathway, if considered, needs its own records, methodology, and claims context.

Outside this tool

  • Air travel, food, purchases, refrigerants, and other activities.
  • Location-specific grid and supplier factors, unless you replace the default in a formal inventory.
  • Scope classification, assurance, compliance, target setting, credit selection, or claim language.

MethodDeclared factors

A small model you can inspect.

Electricity

0.394 kg CO₂ per kWh: EPA national annual electricity-use reference value using 2022 eGRID activity data.

Fuel

5.3 kg CO₂ per therm of natural gas and 8.887 kg CO₂ per gallon of gasoline, based on EPA calculations.

Vehicle fallback

0.390 kg CO₂ per mile, derived from the displayed gasoline factor and an average gasoline-vehicle fuel-economy reference; use instead of fuel, not in addition to it.

CarbonBlaze uses these factors as declared educational defaults, not as universally applicable factors. For organization reporting, select activity and emission factors appropriate to the organization’s geography, operations, period, and reporting methodology. The GHG Protocol provides calculation guidance and factor resources; the UK government publishes annual activity-based factors for UK activities.
